A new two week umpire school has sprung up in Cocoa, Florida.
"At O.U.T.S., we have taken a middle-of-the road approach. Two weeks allows us the best of both worlds: A shorter time frame that allows more students to take advantage of our school, plus the opportunity to come to Florida in the winter (always a plus if you are tired of shoveling snow!) and actually get game experience while being evaluated by highly qualified, former and current professional and collegiate umpires. The ability to be evaluated in true game situations can reveal much more about an umpire and allow constructive feedback that they can take home to become a better umpire."
The cost at O.U.T.S. is $1,750 which includes 13 nights, double-occupancy accomodations at the Cocoa Expo, plus three meals per day at the Expo, tax, and limited liability insurance. Tuition also includes an O.U.T.S. hat and umpiring uniform shirt, plus a camp t-shirt.
