Does it pay to have your players constantly disputing with the umpire? Some managers are of the opinion that it does. Connie Mack, one of the greatest as well as most successful leaders the game has ever produced, regards it as a waste of time and effort. If you would take his team as an example, it would seem that it is wise to play ball and let the umpire do the umpiring.
