These masks are the lightest on the market. The DFM-UMP weighs only 1.3lbs with straps (included) and the DFM-UMP-SV weighs only 1lb with straps (included). They both are made of a lightweight alloy and have a single bar design. The Diamond Quik-Dry chin pads are comfortable and absorbs perspiration very well. The masks have an extended upper bar to help protect from foul balls and a lower profile design which provides better vision.
I am a big proponent of the Diamond DFM-UMP. After several hundred games a weld separated after my DFM-UMP mask was hit with a 90 mph fastball a HS catcher missed. My mask had taken a great deal of abuse over a six month period since purchase, but I was surprised the weld broke. I emailed Diamond Sports and they gave me instructions on how to replace the mask. I appreciated their customer service and professionalism.
